As a bidder, what auctions can I participate in?
All auctions are private and require an invitation from the auction originator. Once registered and approved, you will be displayed as an Active bidder. You will then receive invitation emails to selected auctions by the auction originator.
How will I be contacted before an auction begins?
You will receive a system-generated email that contains information about the actions you need to take to prepare to bid on the auction.
Can I bid on less than the full quantity in an auction?
That depends on the auction rules. Auction rule information will be provided to the bidder by the originator prior to the live auction opening.
What is a Reserve Price?
A Reserve Price is the price at which the Originator is willing to do business. If the reserve price is not met, the Originator reserves the right to not award the business.
During a live auction do the other bidders see my bids?
In the majority of auctions completed on Exostar's SourcePass platform, suppliers are able to see bid information from other suppliers, but the identities of the other bidding suppliers are hidden. There are cases, such as in a ranked auction, where suppliers do not see other suppliers' bids, and is only aware of their own rank in the auction bidding process.
I'm a SupplyChain Platform member and big supplier, how do I get invited to an Auction?
In order to use Auction Services, you must be invited to participate in an auction by one of our partners, unless you would like to hold your own auction event. Exostar does not solicit new suppliers for the partners, as the partners have pre-selected suppliers for every auction.
What are the system requirements for participating in an eSourcing event?
The software requires Internet Explorer v.6.0 or v.7.0. Internet Explorer 8 is not supported at this time. Exostar recommends a 300kb/sec or faster connection speed to the internet. NOTE: SourcePass will work with other browsers, but we cannot support technical issues that might arise from use of other browser configurations.
I am updating my customer profile in my SourcePass account. On the additional Information page, I tried to save my profile information but when I click save nothing happens.
Apostrophes and carriage returns are not permissable in your profile. For example, if you are entering Bob's Bolts, please enter it as Bobs Bolts without the apostrophe. Also, when listing multiple companies, such as Boeing, Raytheon, and Rolls-Royce they must be separated by a comma. Do not use your Enter button or carriage return to create a list.
I try to access SourcePass through my SupplyChain account but I keep getting a message that says ePass must be run in one window only. How do I access my SourcePass account for more than one session?
Close all existing Internet browser sessions and open a fresh Internet browser. Go to www.myexostar.com. Click the SourcePass login button. There you will be prompted to enter your Sourcepass login credentials.
What do I do if I have technical problems during an auction?
If you experience technical problems during an auction, please contact the Live Auction Support Team immediately by dialing the following number and selecting OPTION 1: US: 1-703-793-7800, UK: 0203 3007093. This team will be able to assist you with any issue you may have or surrogate bid on your behalf. Surrogate Bidding requires consent from the supplier to have live auction bids recorded for documentation purposes. If there are multiple problems with other users, the auction may be paused and the bidders notified, until the issues are resolved.
Is there any restriction on the characters used in my password and login information?
Passwords must contain a minimum of 8 characters (maximum of 20) with at least one alpha, and at least one numeric character.
What happens if I can't remember my login name or password?
Below the login fields you will see: "Forgot your Login name or Password". Click on 'Password' and provide the requested information to reset your password and have it sent to you. If you cannot remember your login, please click on 'Login Name' and provide the requested information and your login name will be sent to you.
Can more than one person from my company register as a bidder?
Yes, both of Exostar's supplier solutions permit multiple participants from one Supplier Company to register to bid. The registered SourcePass Application Manager for the supplier company should be contacted to provide login credentials to the SourcePass system. If suppliers are uncertain of whom their SourcePass Application Manager is, please contact Exostar Customer Service at and choose OPTION 2.
I placed a bid by mistake. How can I erase it?
Please contact the Live Auction Support Team immediately at the following number by selecting OPTION 1: US: 1-703-793-7800, UK: 0203 3007093. Exostar will discuss the erroneous bid with the auction originator before deleting the bid for the bidder.
How quickly will the website log me out if there is no activity?
60 minutes.
How do I participate in an auction as a bidder?
In order to participate in an auction as a bidder, suppliers must register for an Exostar Supplier Membership. Exostar's Supplier Membership includes access to SourcePass for participation in bid activities such as RFQs and Reverse auctions, as well as the Exostar Trading Partner Directory. Also included in the membership is access to Exostar's procurement application, Supply Chain Platform, used for receipt and acceptance of purchase orders and change orders, along with many other functionalities.
