You may renew your certificates 90 days prior to expiration. If you have expiring certificates, you must not reapply for certificates, unless you are attempting to upgrade the certificate assurance level.
For FIS MLOA Software and Hardware certificates, you must download your renewed certificates using your existing unexpired certificates.
Renew Certificates
Please follow these steps below to renew your Medium Level of Assurance (MLOA) certificates before they expire:
1. On the MyExostar.com home page, hover your mouse over LOGIN in the top right corner, and select MAG Login from the drop-down menu.
2. You will be redirected to the MAG Login screen, click the Login Using Badge or Certificate link.
3. You should be asked to Confirm Your Certificate. Select your Exostar Federated Identity Service (FIS) certificate then click OK.
4. You will be prompted to enter your SafeNet Token password. Enter your password and click OK.
5. The page will load and you will be logged in.
6. From the MAG Dashboard, click on the My Account tab.
7. Next click on the Manage Certificates sub-tab.
8. Then select Renew Certificates.
Your renewal request will be forwarded to your organization’s FIS Application Administrator for approval. After your FIS Application Administrator has approved the request, you will be able to download the renewed certificates.
Next Steps:
Once you submit your certificate renewal request, the following actions will occur:
- You will receive two confirmation emails your request for renewal has been submitted to the FIS Administrator for approval.
- The FIS Administrator receives a notification to approve your request.
- If the FIS Administrator approves your request, you receive an approval email with a passcode to download your certificates.
Download Renewed Certificates
To download your renewal certificates:
1. On the MyExostar.com home page, hover your mouse over LOGIN in the top right corner, and select MAG Login from the drop-down menu.
2. You will be redirected to the MAG Login screen, click the Login Using Badge or Certificate link.
3. You should be asked to Confirm Your Certificate. Select your Exostar Federated Identity Service (FIS) certificate then click OK.
4. You will be prompted to enter your SafeNet Token password. Enter your password and click OK.
5. The page will load and you will be logged in.
6. From the MAG Dashboard, click on the My Account tab.
7. Next click on the Manage Certificates sub-tab.
8. Then select Download Certificates.

Once you have downloaded the new MLOA Certificates, you will be emailed an invoice for the cost of the renewal within 90 days. Please be sure to forward that invoice to the appropriate individual or department within your company to have the invoice paid. If the invoice is not paid, then your certificates could be permanently revoked.
