Step 1. Account Activation
Once Exostar approves your organization registration, you will receive an account activation email. Please review all information provided in the email, paying special attention to your Account Details and User ID.
Activate your MAG Account:
1. In your email inbox, locate the Exostar Welcome email to Activate your Exostar Account.
2. Click the Activate My Account button.
3. Create your new Password, then re-type it again to confirm your password. Click NEXT.
NOTE: Please use the checklist displayed to verify your password meets all the requirements.
3. Your account is now active. For all future logins you will use your User ID/Email and password to access MAG.

Accept Terms & Conditions:
1. Under the My Applications section, you will see the applications your company is subscribed to, for each application you will need to click Agree to Terms.
2. Next review the terms and conditions, check the “I have read and agree“ box to accept terms and conditions.
3. You will receive a confirmation message. Repeat the steps above for each application to which your company is subscribed.
4. Click Go to Dashboard, to begin using the application.

Step 2. Access Application
After you have set-up your MAG account you can login and access Exostar’s Managed Secure Desktop. Follow the steps below to access the application.
Access Managed Secure Desktop:
1. Login to your MAG account with your User ID and password – https://fedramp-ui.portal.exostar.com
2. The MAG Dashboard will display, go to the Applications section and find “Exostar EMSD Dashboard (Preview)” tile. Click Launch to open the application.
3. The system will ask you to authenticate with Two-Step Verification. Select the phone number to have a code sent to, then choose the Send text option and click Send. (Note: If you click Send voice message, you will receive a phone call with the code).
4. Enter the code in the field provided and click Next.
5. You will be redirected Exostar’s Managed Secure Desktop dashboard.
2. The MAG Dashboard will display, go to the Applications section and find “Exostar EMSD Dashboard (Preview)” tile. Click Launch to open the application.
3. The system will ask you to authenticate with Two-Step Verification. Select the phone number to have a code sent to, then choose the Send text option and click Send. (Note: If you click Send voice message, you will receive a phone call with the code).
4. Enter the code in the field provided and click Next.
5. You will be redirected Exostar’s Managed Secure Desktop dashboard.

Step 3. Install Remote Desktop
Next you will need to launch and install the Remote Desktop client. (NOTE: You may need Administrator rights to download and install the Remote Desktop on your computer).
Install Remote Desktop:
1. In the EMSD Dashboard, click the Launch EMSD button. A window box will pop-up with steps for first-time setup.
2. The first step will ask you to Install the Remote Desktop, click the hyperlink to download the client to your computer (Note: this is where you may need Administrator rights).
3. The Remote Desktop Setup Wizard will open, click Next to continue.
4. Read the End-User License Agreement and check the box, “I accept the terms in the License Agreement“. Then click Next.
5. On the Installation Scope page, select the radio button “Install just for you“. Then click Install.
6. You have Completed the Remote Desktop Setup Wizard, click the Finish button to exit the Setup Wizard.
7. Next go back to the EMSD Dashboard and follow step 2, click the button “Yes, First Time“.
8. A new window will pop-up, click the button “Open Microsoft Remote Desktop Center“, next the sign-in window will display.
Follow the steps below to sign-in and launch the Remote Desktop client.

4. Read the End-User License Agreement and check the box, “I accept the terms in the License Agreement“. Then click Next.

7. Next go back to the EMSD Dashboard and follow step 2, click the button “Yes, First Time“.
8. A new window will pop-up, click the button “Open Microsoft Remote Desktop Center“, next the sign-in window will display.
Follow the steps below to sign-in and launch the Remote Desktop client.
Sign-in to Remote Desktop client:
1. From the Sign-in window, click the additional “Sign-in Options“, then select “Sign-in to an organization“.
2. Next “Find your Organization” by entering your Domain name in the field provided. (NOTE: Your Domain name will be provided to you via your Exostar Onboarding documents).
3. Sign-in to your account by entering your unique MAG User ID (this is also provided in the email with your Domain name), then click Next.
4. You will be redirected to the MAG Portal to login. Enter your MAG User ID again and click Next. Then enter your Password and click Next.
5. You will be asked to to verify your identity and enter the code texted to your phone. Then click Next.
6. Once you have been authenticated, the Remote Desktop client will display. Double-click the RD client to launch the desktop and open the browser to securely access permitted websites.
2. Next “Find your Organization” by entering your Domain name in the field provided. (NOTE: Your Domain name will be provided to you via your Exostar Onboarding documents).
3. Sign-in to your account by entering your unique MAG User ID (this is also provided in the email with your Domain name), then click Next.
4. You will be redirected to the MAG Portal to login. Enter your MAG User ID again and click Next. Then enter your Password and click Next.

Step 4. Access Remote Desktop
Once you setup and installed the Remote Desktop client, you can safely connect and browse allowed websites in your Exostar’s Managed Secure Desktop.
Access Remote Desktop and use the Browser:
1. Double-click the Remote Desktop client (Information Worker).
2. You will see Exostar’s Managed Secure Desktop display as the background and compliance message.
3. Open your browser to safely and securely access allowed websites within the desktop. (See our allowed sites below).
4. You can log back into your MAG account – https://fedramp-ui.portal.exostar.com/ with your credentials (Note: you will only need to put in the first part of your User ID, not the full user ID + domain name).
5. From the MAG Dashboard, you can access Exostar’s Managed Microsoft 365. Click Launch to open the application.
2. You will see Exostar’s Managed Secure Desktop display as the background and compliance message.
3. Open your browser to safely and securely access allowed websites within the desktop. (See our allowed sites below).
4. You can log back into your MAG account – https://fedramp-ui.portal.exostar.com/ with your credentials (Note: you will only need to put in the first part of your User ID, not the full user ID + domain name).
5. From the MAG Dashboard, you can access Exostar’s Managed Microsoft 365. Click Launch to open the application.
